We finally made it to Smithers, British Columbia. Here we got to check out the Smithers Exploration Group’s amazing collection of rocks and minerals as well as their educational rock plates in their new Rock Room. During our time at the Rock Talks we took 360 degree photos of their rock and mineral collection. These photos can be accessed on the Below BC Minerals Project page by clicking here.
Rock plates such as the one pictured below are great hands on tools for explaining the local strata and geological features in terms of both deposit modeling and educating future geoscientists.
